Wool … natural, sustainable and renewable … is an eco-fibre fit for the future !

My name is Lorna McCormack I am a Fibre Artist in Ireland and I’ve recently started a new business called Wool in School.  My aim is to inspire students to be creative and curious about new uses for an abundant, natural and locally produced fibre be it Wool or Alpaca fibre.I work closely with children teaching them crafts using wool, needle felting and wet felting.  This woolly trolley education resource will directly link in with their core school work through Science, Maths, English and Art. Children will have the opportunity to touch different wool, try carding and spinning on a drop spindle. They will explore different items made with wool these will be very different to the woolly jumper. Children will also learn about the benefits of wool on the environment as a fibre of the future. Each school will receive a resource pack of information to support exploring wool in school.

If you have a school or creche you think would benefit from this woolly education please contact us and let us know!
